American Legion Post 72 10am – 2pm. 345 Legion Drive (off E.Shirley Avenue, behind the Horse Show Grounds), Warrenton, VA. Free Admission! Show what you ride. Show what you drive. $100 cash prize for Best Bike,and Best Car! Check in your bike or car from 10am – 11am. The cost to register a vehicle in the show is $15 in advance, or $20 at the door. Voting takes place between 11am – 1:30pm. Activities will include music, 50/50 raffle, door prizes, silent auctions,food vendors and more! Proceeds benefit disabled Veterans. $5 Entry Fee. Open House at Alpaca Full Moon Farm

Rather than doing our Spring into Summer Open House on one weekend, we will be open every Saturday and Sunday in June.  We are on cria watch for the month of June and wanted to share the arrival of the newborn alpacas with our animal-loving visitors. The beginning of the end of the waiting is over! The first of three Spring cria was born June 5, 2010…a sweet little girl with a birth weight of 19.6 lbs. And…two more newborns due anyday now! In celebration of new life on the farm, the Full Moon Shop is offering 10% off all regularly

2011 Twilight Polo at Great Meadow

Another exciting season of Twilight Polo has begun and will contine through September 17, 2011.
Gates open at 6:30 p.m. each Saturday. $30 per carload

The crowd favorites will continue this year with entertaining half-time activities, tailgate competitions and dancing under the stars in the Meadow Club polo pavillion after polo.

Markham Theater Group presents “Tom Sawyer” June 10th

"Tom Sawyer" Markham Theater Group, Fauquier CountyCelebrate the arrival of summer vacation with a presentation of “TOM SAWYER” by the Markham Theater Group at 6pm Friday, June 10th at the beautiful outdoor theater located in the Northern Fauquier Community Park. Gate opens at 5:45.

Join Tom and his friends as he goes from one adventure to the next in this play based on the great American classic The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain. The cast is made up of all auditioned local student actors, and live music between scenes will be provided by local music students.

You may bring a blanket or low lawn chairs to sit on. We’d love to have you stay afterward to meet the cast and musicians. Admission is $5, $3 for aged sixteen and under, and proceeds benefit the Marshall Community Center. You may also make a donation to Markham Theater Group if you wish.

In case of rain, the show will be presented the next night, Saturday June 11 at 6pm at the Marshall Community Center Auditorium. Doors open at 5:30

Vint Hill Dog Park

Vint Hill Dog ParkThe Vint Hill Dog Park is open on 1.25 partially wooded acres at Vint Hill, near the corner of Aiken Drive and Kennedy Road. There is parking directly adjacent to the park off Aiken Drive, and a large parking lot directly across Kennedy Road. The park is free and open to the public, operating from dawn to dusk.



Park Rules

Usage & Liability

  • The Vint Hill Dog Park is for dogs, their handlers and those accompanying them. No other activities are allowed.
  • Handlers are responsible and liable for any injuries caused by the dog(s) under their control
  • Users of this facility do so at their own risk. Neither Piedmont Dogs nor the Vint Hill EDA nor the Vint Hill Conservancy shall be liable for any injury or damage in the Vint Hill Dog Park.
  • Handlers are liable for and must repair all damage to the park caused by the handler or the dog(s) under their control

 Canine Regulations

  • All dogs must be legally licensed and vaccinated, and shall wear a visible dog license
  • No dogs under three months of age
  • No female dogs in season
  • Dogs must be on leash when entering or exiting the off-leash dog area
  • Dogs must be under the control of their handler and in view of their handler at all times
  • No spiked collars
  • Dogs must be removed from the off-leash dog area at the first sign of aggression
  • No animals other than dogs shall be permitted in the area

Handler & Guest Regulations

  • Children 8 and under are not allowed in the off-leash dog area
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Handlers must be 16 years of age or older
  • Handlers must have possession of leashes at all times
  • Maximum of two dogs per handler
  • Handlers must “Scoop The Poop”
  • No drinks in glass containers. No food of any kind. Dog training treats are allowed

Additional Facilities

We are now working to add amenities to the park and complete maintenance tasks such as fence painting. Once the Vint Hill Dog Park is complete, we will begin the process of identifying a location for our second Piedmont Dogs facility.

Piedmont Dogs is a non-profit organization, located in Warrenton, Virginia.  We are dedicated to building and maintaining public off-leash dog recreation areas for the enjoyment of the residents of Virginia’s Piedmont region, particularly the counties of Fauquier, Prince William, and Culpeper.
