Civil War Medicine Lecture and Warrenton Museums Tour

Civil War CampSunday, April 28. 10 Ashby St Warrenton. 4:30 pm. Join us for an exclusive after-hours lecture and tour! Start off your evening with a quick visit to the Old Jail Museum where you’ll enjoy light refreshments and get to see our new Civil War Medicine exhibit. At 4:30, step inside the historic Warrenton Courthouse where our special guest lecturer Dr. Martha Neff-Smith, medical doctor and President of the James Madison Museum in Orange, VA, will speak on Civil War Medicine, the rather primitive medical knowledge of the time and how it affected soldiers during the war. Dr. Neff-Smith will be demonstrating with an amputation kit and other medical instruments to bring this exciting lecture to life. After the lecture, follow our guides as they lead you to the Liberty Heritage Society Museum and the Lincoln Washington Society Museum.
